Starting her career in STI, pregnancy and HIV prevention, Jennifer Orlando began working in the HIV field as an Educator providing essential health education to underserved middle and high school students.
During her time as an Educator, Jennifer Orlando managed key partnerships and operations across an extensive scope, expanding her expertise in grant implementation. Combining her experience in HIV direct service and financial management, she appreciates the complexities of prioritizing program success in coordination with financial integrity.
Prior to joining the CHAVD MOU, Jennifer Orlando worked for the Colorado Department of Human Services providing oversight for federal and state-funded programs. She managed 50+ grantees providing over $40 million for statewide prevention programs. She also led fiscal site visits, audits and compliance reviews of awardees.
Additionally, Jennifer Orlando has experience managing performance improvement plans, federal and state compliance trainings and creating compliance monitoring systems. She is trained in Uniform Administrative Requirements for Federal Grants: 2 CFR 200 and applies federal regulations to CHAVD fiscal management.
